Open Meet 2008
Update Weds 29 October - The results are now available in pdf format, see the links on the left of this page. Congratulations to Rosie Rudin, Edward Borysiak and City of Derby SC for lifting the Top Girl, Boy and Club trophies. Thank you all once again for your support of our silver jubilee Open Meet, we hope to see you again next year for our 26th Open Meet.
Update Sun 26 October - Thank you to everybody who helped to make today's Silver Jubilee Open Meet a success, a great team effort. The promoters would like to thank all today's officials, but particulary those who didn't have family members swimming at the meet, but gave up their otherwise free Sunday to help us. These were the 3 referees Ann Basford, Barrie May and Ian Davey, the Starter Steven Darkins and the chief timekeeper Liz Davison. We'd also like to mention the efforts of Peter Spink who set up and operated the flashy new scoreboard for us, we couldn't have run the Meet without his expertise.
Anyway the results are now available here but in MS Excel format only (for now), if you can't open Excel files then we'll get a Word or PDF version on soon. Shame the clocks don't go back an hour again tonight!
Update Sat 25 October - The Heat Start Lists are now available in the links on the left. If you are able, please download and print off your own copy and bring it with you. Emegecncy contact No for tonight and tomorrow is 07999 885999.
Good luck for tomorrow and thank you for supporting our Meet
Update Fri 24 October - A few admin things. If you have not been to Queens Leisure Centre before, click on the link against Venue in the left column. The Queens Leisure website that opens has loads of info, including car parks near the Leisure Centre. Here is a diagram of the layout on poolside for the meet, this will show you where you have to go to report and collect trophies etc. And finally don't forget that the clocks go BACK one hour on Sat night / Sun morning.
Don't forget if you are not swimming then let us know by 4pm Saturday. We're still short of judges, last minute volunteers would be welcome.
Update Sun 19 October - The final program is now available, see the downloads section on the left. This version will now go off to the printers - you can still report any corrections that are needed, though these will not be seen in the printed version available on the day.
Should any of your swimmers decide not to swim in the Meet for whatever reason, please let us know as soon as you can so we can reduce the number of empty lanes on the day. You may report withdrawls up to 4pm on Saturday 25th by email to vicechairman@belpermarlin.co.uk or by phone / text to 07999 885999. The Heat Start Lists should be available approx 6pm Sat 25 October. End of Update
Update Mon 06 October - The provisional program is now available, see the downloads section on the left. Please check your entries as soon as you can, and if you spot any errors please let us know immediately. Please also have a look at the Confirmation letter - this is really intended for fixtures secretaries, but it does contain some good info that you need to be aware of. End of Update
Welcome to the webpage for the Belper Marlin Open Meet 2008. The format is very similar to last year, with 6 events available to each swimmer over 2 sessions. Have a look at the program of events for each gala in the Links / Downloads on the left of this page. The galas will be held at the Queens Leisure Centre on Sun 26 October.
Owing to the large number of 9 year old swimmers last year, we have introduced a separate awards category for 9 yr olds.
The promoters rules and entry forms are available for you to download, see the links in the left hand column.
